James Wang

James Wang serves as Chief Financial Office at VP Ventures. He has 15 years of experience in private equity investing and has deployed over $5 billion of equity into dozens of companies across the energy, power, industrials, and infrastructure sectors. He has also raised billions of dollars in private equity funds and debt / equity financings for portfolio companies within those funds.  Wang most recently served as a Managing Director at Ara Partners, a leading middle market private equity firm specializing in industrial decarbonization investments.  Prior to that, he served as a Vice President at First Reserve, a large cap global private equity investment firm exclusively focused on energy. Wang graduated with his undergraduate and graduate degrees in business and accounting from the University of Texas at Austin.
