Ron Smith

Ron Smith is Vice President of Joint Venture Development for PureCycle Technologies and leads global partnership development to accomplish PureCycle’s mission to transform the world’s polypropylene recycling industry.
Smith  brings more than 34 years of prior experience in the refining/chemical sector with an extensive background in international (Asia, Latin America, Canada, Western Europe) and domestic business development with a proven track record of building strong team environments resulting in substantial business/profitability growth.
Smith spent 15 years of his career with LyondellBasell and was also part of three prior startup companies focused on the environment through remediation of waste oil, technology development for recycling used lubricants, and project development for low carbon gasoline production.
Smith’s prior positions include Managing Director of Deep Blue Petroleum, CEO of Javelin Hydrocarbons, and Vice President of Refining, Crude Supply, Products and Planning at LyondellBasell’s 275,000 barrel per day refinery. He also held positions in engineering and operations in the refining industry early in his career. Smith holds both a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering from Texas Tech University.
